Are YOU an EXPERIENCED foster or kinship caregiver looking to provide support to caregivers and their families when dealing with the turmoil caused by an allegation? Then WE are looking for YOU!

What is C.A.S.T.?

In light of recent changes to our program, what was previously known as F.A.S.T., has become C.A.S.T.;
this program is now available to all foster and kinship caregivers of Alberta.

C.A.S.T. Representatives are foster and kinship caregivers who have special training and knowledge
about the process involved when an allegation is made; they are provided with extensive training
relative to allegations and in providing support to those affected by them. C.A.S.T Reps are committed to
helping caregivers work with investigators; they will provide support, clarify issues and HELP you receive
the information pertaining to your assessment and its results, in a reasonable length of time. C.A.S.T.
Representatives support foster and kinship caregivers and their families and ensure that no one who
requests their assistance goes through this process alone.

Who are C.A.S.T. Reps? C.A.S.T. Representatives are approved volunteer AFKA foster and kinship caregivers who are supported
by their worker to participate in this program. C.A.S.T Reps are SELF-STARTERS, are knowledgeable with
foster and kinship care policies, take pride in HELPING OTHERS and like to keep informed of changes
