Foster and Kinship Caregiver Week - October 20-26, 2019

Honoring Canada’s Foster and Kinship Caregivers

Nationally, October is now recognized as Foster Family Month; foster families from across the country are recognized for the unbelievable work they do for children and youth.

Here in Alberta, we celebrate Foster and Kinship Caregiver Week during the third full week of October! Foster and kinship caregivers are some of the many amazing members of our community; they are selfless, generous, loving and kind, just to name a few of their many wonderful traits.

From school functions, sports practices, doctors and specialist appointments to cultural events and ensuring connections to family and community, foster and kinship caregivers find a way to make it happen to meet the various needs of children placed in their care.

Events will be taking place across the country in recognition of foster families and across Alberta in recognition of foster and kinship caregivers. If you have an event happening in your area, we encourage you to email or message us the information so that we can help in getting the word out.

We wish all foster and kinship caregivers of Alberta and across Canada a very wonderful Foster and Kinship Caregiver Week!
